This group project was all about learning the history of design and the designers that made up a large part of it. We were assigned the designers of the 60's modern period. Most of our designers fought for social justice, so we decided to 3D print sculptures that represented the issues that they worked towards resolving. We then burned them using colored flame to show the viewer that these social issues are burning issues that need to be resolved. After this created a publication showcasing this process as well as information on our assigned designers. The final piece to this project was an exhibition that we created which ultimately called the audience to self-reflect on their role in this and what they are doing to help. This project involved science, research, and physical labor as we had to burn the sculptures and shatter mirrors for our exhibition.
